The newly crowned world number one men's doubles badminton pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, commenced their campaign at the French Open Super 750 tournament with a convincing straight-game victory.

The Asian Games gold medalists chose to skip the Denmark Open Super 750 in the previous week, and in their first match of the French Open, they bested the 34th-ranked pair of Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar, securing a 21-13, 21-13 win in a one-sided contest.

Right from the start, Satwik and Chirag dominated the proceedings, maintaining a lead and ending the opening game comfortably.

The second game followed a similar pattern, with the Indian duo swiftly gaining an 11-6 advantage. They maintained their control throughout to seal the match.

In the next round, Satwik and Chirag are set to face the Indonesian pair of Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan, who are three-time world champions.

Furthermore, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu is scheduled to compete in the women's singles category later in the day, facing Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
