Navi Mumbai: Kane Williamson's Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has beaten Shikhar Dhawan's Punjab Kings (PBK) for seven wickets at Match 28 of IPL 2022 at DY Patil Stadium here on Sunday. SRH has bounced back into the race with its fourth straight win and entered the top 4 on the points table.

The orange squad bowled out PBK for 151 in 20 overs and started chasing but were in a struggle, losing three men at 77 for 10.3 overs. However, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran joined hands to shore their team, sealing the match.

Hyderabad lost Kane Williamson in the fourth over, playing an uppish drive straight to mid-off off Kagiso Rabada. Rahul Tripathi, fresh from a dazzling 71 against Kolkata Knight Riders, began his innings by dancing down the pitch against Rabada to lift over a leaping mid-off.

When captain Kane Williamson left the chase at the 4th over, Rahul Tripathi staged his usual dancing moves around the pitch. He kept the scoreboard in motion while Abhishek Sharma tried to settle in.

Rahul Chahar, after an expensive over, came back again and took Tripathi two overs later he took Abhishek also. The next partnership of Markram and Pooran, which wrote victory for SRH, however, played a responsible inning. They remained cautious against Rahul Chahar, while Markram almost got a runout in the 14th over by Rabbada.

Earlier, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar had a tight grip against PBK, while Umran Malik made his day with his first 4-wicket haul. He had bowled the final over, taking three wickets and a bonus runout.

For PBK, Liam Livingstone staged a fair performance, scoring 60. Punjab did not have their usual opener and captain, Mayank Agarwal. Youngster Shahrukh Khan (26) stood with Livingston for a 71 runs stand, which was a sigh of relief for the red squad, but in vain.

Johnny Bairstow, who was the celebrated co-opener of David Warner for SRH till last season, has been struggling this season to find foot on the crease. He got out before wicket post power play. Though later Livingston stood till 19th over, PBK was destined to go all out at 151.
