Comedian Vir Das

Offbeat: After a fan mailed comedian Vir Das and informed him that he named his son after Das, in a sweet gesture, the comedian replied that he feels sorry and expressed his regret towards the fan, NDTV reported.

Das, who is known for his quirky posts and large followers-base, shared the screenshot of the fan's text on Instagram. The fan had written, "Subject: I named my son after you. Message: Hi Vir Das, I want you to know that I named my son after you almost eight years back. Not only cause we loved your comedy, but majorly the numerology of your name means that you have the capacity to achieve success beyond your imagination, even if the sky is small in front of the name. Wishing you all the best in everything in life. You are very close to our heart," NDTV quoted.

The fan also says that his son wants to be a comedian without even knowing who he was named after.

In his witty reply to the fan, Das said, "Thank you...and... I'm sorry...but also...you should've known better."

The post has gathered more than 30k likes as well as comments.

The comment section features curious and witty comments like "Replace "Vir Das" with "Vin Diesel" in the email, and it gets way more appropriate" and "Hahahahaah, this kid will one day be sitting in a therapist chair and telling them WHEN IT ALL STARTED," etc.

A user was really positive, saying, "But it's a good thing.. There aren't enough laughs in the world.. People like you they make the world just a little better place to live in."
