It has become clear that America is more interested in Israel's inhumanity than in international law. Now, the nations of the world must step forward to save the world from complete lawlessness. Three things have happened in recent days that reveal Israel's wickedness and America's servility. One is the release of a report by a UN special committee investigating Israeli actions. The report lays out evidence of Israel's use of illegal means to achieve military objectives. Israel has committed crimes such as weaponizing starvation, destroying civilians by hunting and torturing them, repeatedly violating international law, and implementing apartheid. The second is a report released by Human Rights Watch. The report lists war crimes and crimes against humanity that Israel has been committing for more than a year. The deliberate displacement of people from here to there and back is not for military purposes but for ethnic cleansing. The world court has already said months ago that Israel's actions amount to genocide. The third thing that forces the rest of the world to decide for themselves is the US response to these factual accounts. The US still says it has not been convinced that Israel is committing war crimes or genocide. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who has said that the US considers forcibly evicting people from their homes a “red line” and will take action if it is crossed, still says that it has not seen any such activity by Israel.

Nothing from UN reports and authentic statements by UN special rapporteurs to the UN Secretary-General, from eyewitness accounts of ‘live genocide’ to the testimony of Israeli media, has forced the US to reconsider. This shows that its servitude to Israel, which is unacceptable to the world, has made America complicit in the crimes. As crucial evidence, Israel has crossed yet another ‘red line’ of the US. When it became impossible to justify providing weapons and money to Israel, which was not even been allowing food or medicine into Gaza, Biden and his team announced a 30-day deadline. The announcement was that if aid was not allowed into Gaza within that time, the supply of weapons to Israel would stop. Even after thirty days, Israel has not relented at all; the cruelty has only increased. After allowing far less food than needed to Beit Hanoun, Israel burned down the food storage sheds. On October 31, it destroyed the medicines at Kamal Adwan Hospital. Swallowing everything it had said before, the United States says it is not ready to take action against Israel (even to stop supplying weapons). What more, in the 30-day period that the United States has announced, Israel has done things that defy the United States and the world.

Some of them in that long list are: bombing a school building where polio vaccinations were being administered, killing 20 people; bombing a school building that was being used as a refugee camp; destroying the remaining hospital facilities in northern Gaza; bombing various settlements, killing dozens; bombing an oxygen station for treatment, killing children in intensive care; detaining doctors and nurses; bombing another settlement, killing 90 people (including 25 children); attacking and damaging the vehicle of a UNICEF staff member for polio prevention; killing four engineers who were on their way to fix the water supply; banning the UN agency (UNRWA); bombing a ‘safe zone’, killing ten people. This list is incomplete. But none of it was enough for the US to keep its word.

The United States is also providing cover for Israel in the UN, which has been defying the UN and its institutions. Israel has killed 228 UN staff in one year. The UN General Assembly has passed a dozen and a half resolutions in this one year demanding that Israel abide by the law. If we do not stop Israel, which has become a country that “no longer belongs within the civilized community of nations” (to use the words of the Malaysian Prime Minister), the world’s laws and systems will collapse. Things will only get worse when Donald Trump, who is more aggressive in his servitude to Israel, comes to power. Other countries should not hesitate to save not only Palestine but the world as well. Israel should be taught a lesson just as South Africa was taught. That may mean isolating not only Israel but also the US. The world also needs 'security for itself'.
