The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued an alert to UAE residents about a tropical storm currently located in the northeast of the Arabian Sea.

The storm, moving at a speed of 7 kmph, is expected to persist over the next 48 hours, potentially affecting the country indirectly.

The NCM has reported that current wind speeds, ranging between 60 to 70 kmph, could intensify to as much as 80 kmph within the next 48 hours.

The weather department urged residents to stay updated on the situation as the storm progresses.

The meteorological department forecasts possible rainfall in the eastern and southern regions, driven by cloud movement from the Arabian Sea.

The Oman Sea and Arabian Gulf are anticipated to be rough, with sea levels potentially rising along some eastern coast beaches during high tide on Sunday and Monday.
