Sheikh Mohamed, Erdogan hold talks on regional peace, stability

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have held talks over the phone, stressing the need for diplomacy and cooperation as conflicts in the region continue to test fragile ceasefires.
The call, made on Sunday, comes at a time when a tentative truce between Iran and Israel remains in place. International pressure grows to halt the violence in Gaza. Both leaders expressed support for efforts aimed at securing lasting peace and preventing further escalation.
Sunday’s discussion marks the second time in a month the two presidents have spoken about the region’s growing tensions. On June 17, they called for calm as Iran and Israel engaged in cross-border attacks following last month’s flare-up.
Alongside the regional situation, Sheikh Mohamed and Erdogan also looked at the state of UAE-Turkey relations. According to officials, the two leaders spoke about ways to strengthen existing partnerships and expand cooperation in areas of shared interest.
The UAE and Turkey have grown closer in recent years, boosting trade and investment ties while working jointly on issues ranging from energy to humanitarian efforts. Sunday's conversation reflected that momentum, with both sides agreeing to stay in close contact as regional developments unfold.
