Abu Dhabi's slaughterhouses will operate from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM daily, according to the Abu Dhabi Municipality, preparing for Eid al Adha. This extended schedule aims to manage the increased demand starting from June 15.

The municipality has expanded its slaughterhouse capacity to handle approximately 37,000 sacrifices and carcasses. To support this, the workforce has been strengthened with additional butchers, maintenance crews and personnel for distributing sacrifices and meats.

Outdoor areas of slaughterhouses have been equipped with air-conditioned tents, shaded pathways and chilled drinking water to accommodate the increased number of visitors, including people of determination and senior citizens.

The Abu Dhabi Automated Slaughterhouse in Zayed Port will handle sacrifices requested by the Red Crescent and through smart applications. Bani Yas and Al Wathba slaughterhouses will cater to the public, while Al Shahama will handle both public requests and those made through smart applications.

Staffing increases include 150 butchers in Bani Yas for 13,000 sacrifices, 50 butchers in Abu Dhabi Automated Slaughterhouse for 10,000 sacrifices, 50 butchers in Al Shahama for 7,000 sacrifices and 45 butchers in Al Wathba for 7,000 sacrifices.

Specialized veterinary staff will inspect animals before and after slaughter to ensure meat safety and quality. Public requests for sacrifices can be made through smartphone applications like "Zabehaty," "Zabayeh Al Jazeera," "Dhabayeh UAE," and "Halal Mazarana."

The municipality urges the public to use approved slaughterhouses only, as unauthorized slaughtering is punishable under Law No. (2) of 2012. Inspection teams will monitor and fine violators.
