Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced stricter penalties for visitors who overstay their visas before the upcoming Hajj season. The Ministry of Interior issued a warning on Tuesday, stating that violators will face a fine of SAR50,000, imprisonment of up to six months and subsequent deportation.
The announcement by the Saudi Press Agency shows the kingdom’s efforts to maintain order and ensure compliance with Hajj and Umrah regulations. Authorities reiterated the importance of respecting visa durations and adhering to the rules established to manage the large influx of pilgrims during the annual Islamic pilgrimage.
The ministry urged all visitors to follow the laws governing religious travel to avoid legal consequences and to support the smooth and safe execution of Hajj 2025.
