A second Kuwaiti medical delegation entered Gaza on Monday via the Rafah border crossing, aiming to provide crucial healthcare support by performing surgical procedures on injured Palestinians.

Omar Al-Thuwaini, Deputy General Manager of Kuwait Society for Relief and head of the delegation, highlighted the mission's primary objective of strengthening the beleaguered healthcare infrastructure in Gaza. Thuwaini emphasized the significance of moral and psychological support, with 11 medical professionals specializing in surgery, ophthalmology, urology and neurosurgery participating in the initiative.

The delegation carried seven tons of essential medical supplies to augment the efforts of local medical teams in Gaza.

Al-Thuwaini reiterated Kuwait's steadfast support towards Palestine, acknowledging the nation's consistent aid efforts. He expressed optimism that the mission would alleviate the suffering of affected Palestinians.

The arrival of the second Kuwaiti medical delegation follows the successful deployment of the first delegation last month, organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society. The ongoing support from Kuwait reflects the country's dedication to addressing the humanitarian needs of Palestinians amidst challenging circumstances.

As the delegation embarks on its seven-day mission, hopes are high for tangible improvements in the healthcare sector and relief for those affected by conflict and adversity.
