Mexico City: The Guinness World Record for baking the longest bread line has been broken by the students of a university in Mexico.

The social media post shared by the Universidad Vizcaya Mexicali in Baja California said that students baked 14,360 loaves of a traditional bread that stretched a 4.5 km long line. The task was done to commemorate the January 6 Three Kings' Day holiday. The bread is traditionally eaten on Three Kings Feast Day and sometimes, a small plastic figurine representing baby Jesus is placed inside it.

Students and faculty members were involved in baking The rosca de reyes bread, also known as King's Cake. The attempt consumed over 96 hours of preparation by over 700 students. Five tonnes of flour, 26,000 eggs, and 2,000 litres of milk were used in the process.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator was present to confirm the line broke the record. The previous record was set with a 9,874-foot, 2.15-inch line of rosca de reyes bread in Tiziman, Mexico, in 2020.
