Keralites apologise to Maria Sharapova after Sachin Tendulkars Tweet

Cricket fans in Kerala are now apologizing to Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova for the cyber-attack against her comment in 2014 when she said she didn't know who is Sachin Tendulkar. The flock of comments apologizing to Sharapova comes after Tendulkar's (who is fondly regarded as 'God of Cricket') tweet over farmers' protest.

The same fans had then brutally slammed the tennis player when she admitted that she didn't know who he was.

However, this time, the then Tendulkar fans are bombarding her Facebook and Twitter walls by commenting down apology notes. "I am sorry", taking reference from a Malayalam movie, one netizen tweeted and offered her shawarma and Kuzhimanthi (a type of biryani). Several such comments are now flooding on her social media walls.

Hate comments against Sachin appeared after he tweeted under the hashtag 'India Against Propaganda' in Twitter. Disappointed by Sachin's stance on the farmers' protest, his fans recalled the incident when they strongly criticised Sharapova in 2014.

Sachin shared his tweet on 3rd February, criticising singer Rihanna and environmental activist Greta Tunberg for interfering in the country's "internal matters". He tweeted that "India's sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let's remain united as a nation". The tweet created a furore in social media sites as people slammed the cricket legend for not standing up with farmers.
