Malappuram: Approximately 60 people could have been injured after a makeshift gallery collapsed at a football stadium near Wandoor - Malappuram in Kerala late Saturday evening, police said.

An incident was reported at Poongodu, near Wandoor and Kalikavu, where a sevens soccer match was taking place.

No serious wounds have been reported among the injured, officials said. All have been taken to nearby hospitals.

Around 9 PM, the incident ensued during the final match of two local teams playing sevens.

Around 2,000 spectators were accommodated in the temporary gallery.
