Kochi: Malayalam film actor Kollam Ajith (56), popular for his villain roles, died here on Thursday. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here for stomach related ailments. He breathed his last at 3.40 am.
Ajith's debut was in 1983 through 'Parannu parannu parannu' directed by Padmarajan. In a career spanning over 3 decades, he acted in around 500 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telungu and Hindi. He was director of two films too.
The actor is survived with his wife Prameela and daughter Gayathri and son Srihari.
Actor Mammootty, Anto Joseph and others reached the hospital to pay last tributes.
