COVID-19: Muscat under total lockdown for 12 days from Friday
text_fieldsMuscat: Sultanate of Oman has announced placing Muscat governorate under total lockdown for 12 days, as of Friday, Oman News Agency reported on Wednesday.
The move is part of the Sultanate’s intensive efforts and precautionary measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Oman Television reported that the Supreme Committee which met on Wednesday took the decision to close all entry and exit points of the governorate until 10 a.m. 22 April.
Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday 48 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections across the country to 419, including 72 recoveries and two deaths, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said today.
The ministry reiterated its calls on the public to adhere to the precautionary measures and home quarantine instructions, and call for social distancing issued by the Supreme Committee as well as to stay at home and not go out unless necessary.
The decision to keep educational institutions closed also has been extended until further orders.
