Hyderabad: Telangana during the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting at Davos in Switzerland has secured investments worth Rs 21,000 crore. A delegation led by Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao had gone to Devos.

An official statement revealed that the trip was successful and attracted investments across various sectors. The release noted that Telangana managed to bag some big-ticket investments when the global economy is on the brink of recession. "The Telangana delegation was successful in showcasing the state as a global investment destination and gateway to India."

K T Rama Rao said that the WEF is the right platform to introduce Telangana because the state has exceptional industrial policies and infrastructure. He added that the state is strengthening its ties with the companies on the WEF platform. "All the meetings at the WEF were highly productive and we were able to attract Rs 21,000 crore at the meet," said Rama Rao.

Thanking officials from the IT and Industries Department and other departments who were involved in making this trip successful, the minister said bringing huge investments to the state and thereby creating employment is the driving force. "I believe that all the new investments and meetings regarding prospective investments will yield favourable outcomes."

The ministers participated in meetings with leaders of top global organisations. They also attended round tables and spoke at panel discussions during the four-day trip. The growth story of Telangana was the highlight during the pitching for investments. The Indian community in Zurich was also presented with the progress of the new state.
