Patna: Two Chinese nationals have been apprehended by immigration officials in Bihar, India, for illegally entering the country through Nepal for the second time within a month.

The arrests occurred on Saturday night at the Raxaul border outpost in East Champaran district, according to Assistant Foreigner Regional Registration Officer SK Singh. The foreigners, identified as Zhao Jing and Fu Cong from Jaoxing province, China, were caught without valid travel documents. During questioning, they claimed to have left their passports at a hotel in Birgunj, just across the border, where they had stayed the previous night.

The Chinese nationals reportedly reached the border using an autorickshaw and attempted to cross over on foot, as per SK Singh.

Records indicated that these individuals had made a previous attempt to enter Indian territory on July 2, during which they claimed it was inadvertent. However, they were released with their passports marked with an "entry refused" stamp.

The repeated attempts to enter the area raised suspicions, leading the authorities to hand them over to the local police for further investigation and appropriate action.

Instances of illegal border crossings raise concerns over security and call for heightened vigilance by authorities. The incident highlights the need for stringent measures to prevent unauthorized entry into the country and safeguard national borders. As the investigation continues, it will be crucial to ascertain the intentions and background of the detained individuals to address any potential security implications.
