Told children to find jobs abroad and settle there: RJD leader claims
text_fieldsPatna: A senior leader of RJD in Bihar controversially said he had advised his children to settle abroad, after labelling India as not secure.
Abdul Bari Siddiqui, who is the national general secretary of Tejashwi Yadav's party, stirred up a hornets nest alleging bias against Muslim community in the country.
The veteran leader claimed that he had told his son, studying at Harvard, and daughter, graduated from the London School of Economics, to find job and take citizenship in the foreign country.
Siddiqui said when his children pointed out to him that he was still living in India, RJD leader claimed to have told them that “they will not be able to cope”.
The BJP’s Bihar unit came down on the RJD leader all though he had not made any direct reference to the BJP or Muslims.
Fuming at the statement, the BJP's Bihar unit asked the RJP leader to "move to Pakistan".
The state BJP spokesman Nikhil Anand said that Siddiqui’s remarks are anti-India and added if he was feeling stifled he should move to Pakistan, giving up all privileges he was enjoying as a politician in India.
The state BJP called out the RJD leader’s statement saying his “utterances are reflective of his party’s culture of Muslim appeasement”.
