Telangana slams PM Modi for not "recognising" state's achievements
text_fieldsHyderabad: Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao came down on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday for not recognising and appreciating the State, despite performing better than many other states. He called Modi's alleged ignorance "petty" politics, PTI reported.
The minister, also ruling Bharat Rashtra Samiti party leader, citing many achievements by Telangana in various fields, challenged Modi to name a state that performed better than Telangana in the last nine years.
Rama Rao tweeted, "#Triumphant Telangana. State with Highest per capita growth in India, First State to provide drinking water to all homes, State that completed the World's largest lift irrigation project, Best Rural Development model in India - 100% ODF plus villages, 2nd Highest paddy producer in India, Highest No of IT Jobs creating State in India, State that won many international accolades...
Yet the PM of India has not a single word of appreciation !! Refuses to acknowledge a performing state for petty politics. @narendramodi Ji, I challenge you to name a state that has performed better all round than Telangana in last 9 years?"
In his address in Hyderabad on Saturday, PM Modi said that the state government is not cooperating with the Centre enough and causing a delay in many projects in the State. The PM was talking after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for multiple projects.
