SP supplied electricity on "Muharram", not on "Ram Navami": Shah
text_fieldsBallia (UP): Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that Samajwadi Party (SP) had not provided people with electricity on Ram Navami, Parashuram Jayanti or Sri Krishna Janmotsav but Muharram. Addressing a poll campaign meeting in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia, Shah was substantiating his claim that Akhilesh Yadav's party was playing appeasement politics and added that if SP is elected back to power, electricity will never reach UP, PTI reported.
Further, he said that while Yadav; 's goons make country and pistols in Bundelkhand and lead youth to crime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is facilitating the defence industry to make shells to give a reply to Pakistan.
He expressed his confidence that the BJP will be back in power, and the first phases of polls have indicated that. BJP government will retrieve encroached land that belongs to the poor and the government. Yogi Adityanath had recovered government land worth Rs 2000 crore and made houses for the poor, he said.
Referring to Congress' 'garibi hataao' in the seventies, Shah said that instead of removing poverty, Congress was involved in removing the poor themselves. But the Modi government fulfilled promises and worked for the welfare of the people.
Modi introduced swachhta abhiyaan and provided toilets, ultimately eliminating mosquito nuisance. He also rid Purvanchal of mafia, Shah claimed. He further said that Akhilesh Yadav made UP number one in dacoity, loot, murder, rape etc. He asked if Yadav was in power, would Atiq Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari and Azam Khan be in Jail. Only the BJP government could free UP from mafias and 'Baahubali', he said.
