Smriti Irani urges Telangana to defeat KCR-Led BRS government
text_fieldsHyderabad: Smriti Zubin Irani, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs, has called on the people of Telangana to vote for the BJP in the upcoming elections and defeat the '30 percent commission' KCR-led BRS government.
She alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao admitted that their MLAs were collecting a 30% commission in Dalit Bandhu.
Speaking at the 'Naari Shakti Vandan Mahila Sammelan' program held in the Dubbaka Assembly constituency, Smriti Irani emphasised the need to vote for the BJP to ensure righteousness and defeat unrighteousness, invoking the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.
Irani credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the successful distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in India, emphasising the effectiveness of the vaccination drive under his leadership.
She also highlighted the BJP-led central government's initiatives, such as spending Rs. 27,000 on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy, which was significantly higher than the previous Congress government's allocation of Rs. 3,000.
The union minister discussed various financial allocations and achievements, including Rs. 1,07,000 crore spent on cotton and paddy procurement in the last decade, benefits to farmers under the Kisan Samman Yojana, and the development of infrastructure, such as rail connections, roads, and fertiliser factories. She also mentioned financial assistance to women entrepreneurs and the establishment of permanent assets under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS).
She raised questions about the performance of the BRS government, citing issues related to water distribution, financial management, and employment opportunities.
Irani cautioned against voting for the Congress, stating that such votes would indirectly support the BRS party, citing instances of Congress MLAs joining BRS in the past. She also mentioned the TSPSC paper leak and expressed concern about unemployed individuals who were affected by the situation.
Dubbaka BJP MLA M. Rahgunandan Rao promised to improve Dubbaka further if given another chance, highlighting his achievements in infrastructure development and addressing issues related to the constituency.
Rahgunandan Rao questioned the claims made by Lok Sabha MP and BRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy, specifically regarding the establishment of a bus stand and a hospital in the constituency. He challenged the delay in these projects despite Prabhakar Reddy's tenure as MP since 2014.
