RSS shakha held outside mosque in Telangana, police say no issue
text_fieldsHyderabad: An RSS shakha held outside a mosque in Nedduru village of Telangana’s Rangareddy district has drawn attention after photographs and videos of the event surfaced on social media.
The 10-day shakha programme concluded with a gathering held directly outside the Nedduru mosque. Images and videos circulating online show participants taking part in the concluding-day activities at the location, prompting questions over the conduct of such programmes near places of worship.
SS Reddy, who regularly shares updates about local RSS activities on Instagram, also posted photographs and videos of the event. In his posts, he said the final day of the 10-day ‘Shakha Saptaham’ programme included ‘Bharat Mata Puja’ and other activities at the Nedunuru Shakha under the Kandukur Khanda in Rangareddy district.
Reddy did not specify the date of the event in his posts. However, he uploaded the photographs and videos on Sunday, October 4, without mentioning that the gathering took place outside the mosque.
The Kandukur Police took suo motu cognisance after the visuals emerged on social media.
According to the Kandukur Police, the event was not associated with the RSS, despite references to the organisation in the social media posts and captions, The Siasat Daily reported. The police officer said the area remained peaceful and that Reddy had been instructed to remove the posts. He declined to provide any further details.
