An alliance of regional parties led by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is in the making to oust the BJP from power in 2024, said Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi. Raijor Dal has also been invited to merge with Trinamool, the independent MLA from Assam added.

"We aim to form a confederation of regional forces and project Mamata Banerjee as its leader to remove the Narendra Modi government from power in 2024," he said. Furthermore, in case of a merger, Banerjee has assured him the post of Trinamool's Assam unit president, he added.

Three rounds of talks have already occurred between the two parties. The party's executive body meeting is likely to form a decision in the matter, he added.
