Rahul Gandhi didn't follow protocol: Delhi Police hits back at Congress
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Delhi Police in its report, submitted to the Home Ministry, said that Rahul Gandhi did not follow the security protocol during his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
The Congress leadership earlier raised allegations of security breaches on multiple occasions after the march entered Delhi.
Following this the Home Ministry sought a report from the Delhi Police. All units of Delhi Police including security, traffic, and special branch have submitted their reports.
Earlier writing to Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal brought forth the issue of the alleged security breaches that happened “on multiple occasions following its entry into Delhi”
Meanwhile, in its report police alleged that Rahul Gandhi was seen breaking the cordon, which included many policemen in plain uniform around him.
The CRPF also alleged that Rahul Gandhi himself breached security protocol on several occasions, adding that he has broken protocol 113 times since 2020.
"Security arrangements made for the protectee works fine when the protectee himself adheres to the security guidelines laid down. However, it is pointed out that on several occasions violations of laid down guidelines on the part of Shri Rahul Gandhi have been observed and this fact has been communicated to him from time to time," CRPF reportedly said.
Ahead of the march enters Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, the congress leadership sought “ proper security” for Rahul Gandhi who enjoys Z+ cover.
