President Murmu to visit Assam, PM Modi to visit Rajasthan
text_fieldsGuwahati: President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Assam on October 13-14. This will be her first visit to the state after taking charge of the top post.
State Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah said the President will arrive in Guwahati on Thursday and will attend a programme at IIT Guwahati. She is scheduled to attend several government programmes like the inauguration of the Dhubri Medical College and Hospital. She will also attend a civic programme at Assam Administrative Staff College and interact with around 500 renowned persons.
The President will visit the Kamakhya Temple on the morning of October 14. She will also be laying the foundation stone of 2,000 Anganwadi centres and 100 tea garden schools. The visit will end on Friday evening.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also preparing for a proposed Rajasthan visit on November 1. He will address a large gathering at Mangarh Dham in the tribal district of Banswara. The visit is expected to influence the political equation of the state which will go to polls in 2023.
Rajasthan Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathod said Mangarh is the land where the freedom struggle started. "Now the visit of PM Modi will offer rich tributes to those who sacrificed their lives and will make people aware of this lost part of history."
