Guwahati: As part of a major crackdown on international trafficking recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) busted a ring based out of India's border regions.

Four people from the Cachar district in Assam have already been arrested in this case.

According to police sources, two Rohingya girls were also rescued from Guwahati railway station.

They added that the rackets operated in Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya, and other parts of the country.

"The man who was the main accused lived in Bangaluru and used to control the racket. The other caught from here used to help him, we cannot share more details since the operation is still on," said Cachar Superintendent of Police Ramandeep Kaur.

Kumkum Ahmed Choudhury, Sahalam Laskar, Ahiya Ahmed Choudhury, Bapan Ahmed Choudhury, Jamaluddin Ahmed Choudhury, and Wanbiang Suting have been identified as the human traffickers.

In the course of its search, the NIA confiscated many documents, articles, and digital devices that may be incriminating.

Police sources said Kumkum Ahmed Chaudhury, alias K.K. Ahmed Choudhury alias Asiqul Ahmed, operated an illegal trafficking ring from Bengaluru.
