My "biggest" political rival is caste: Kamal Haasan
text_fieldsChennai: Indian superstar turned politician Kamal Haasan said on Sunday that caste is his 'biggest' political rival, PTI reported.
Haasan, the chief of Makkal Needhi Maiyam, stated so in his address at the inauguration of inaugurating "Neelam Books," an initiative by well-known Tamil cinema director Pa.Ranjith, as part of his Neelam Cultural Centre.
The actor said, "My biggest rival, my political rival is caste, I am saying this since I was 21 years old, and I still say it, my opinion has never changed." "God is the greatest creation by man after the wheel. We can't accept our own creation if it attacks our own self."
Then Pa.Ranjith, who is known for his critically acclaimed movies, said Haasan "is the one who cultivated the formula of making an art film and yet succeeded in popularising it to the mainstream audience."
Further, in his "Neelam Books", Ranjith said his aim is to keep books that make people understand politics. The books which make people politically responsible, he said.
