New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak again to the embattled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday afternoon, source say.

This is going to be the second talk between two leaders since Russia started invading Ukraine 12 days before.

India is in the last leg of evacuating its nationals, mostly medical students, from Ukraine.

The Prime Minister had spoken to the Ukrainian leader for the first time on February 26.

Modi on Monday would probably seek a safe passage for Indians trapped in the cities including Sumy and Odessa.

PM Modi earlier talked twice with Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly urging the president to ensure safe passage for Indians.

Reports say that India goes on offloading relief materials in Ukraine via Indian Air Force aircraft as well as deploying them to evacuate Indians.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India has sent two tranches of humanitarian assistance that included medicines, medical equipment and relief materials, via IAF aircraft. While one flight carried six tonnes of material to Romania, and the second carried nine tonnes of material to Slovakia on March 3, IANS reported.

On March 2 India, however, for the fourth time abstained from a vote on Ukraine against Russia at UN General Assembly ""in view the totality of the evolving situation".
