Man beaten to death in front of family in Mumbai over road rage
text_fieldsNew Delhi: A group of people in Mumbai's Malad on Saturday thrashed a 28-year-old man to death following an accident involving his car and an autorickshaw, NDTV reported.
Akash Maeen, a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena worker, was with his parents when an autorickshaw hit his car while overtaking near Pushpa Park.
The auto driver left the scene after an argument broke out between them, according to Dindoshi Police.
However a crowd that gathered at the scene assaulted Askash in support of the auto driver.
Footage showed men beating Akash even as his father tried to push them away.
His mother was seen desperately trying to protect him by shielding him from blows.
It is reported citing an official that Akash was left with serious injuries having been kicked and punched by people.
The official added that he died in a nearby hospital.
Police have arrested six person on Sunday and three on Monday alongside charging them under ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder and other offences’.
Those arrested will be in police custody till October 22.
