Madhya Pradesh hospital makes pregnant woman clean bed
text_fieldsDindori: In Madhya Pradesh’s Dindori district, a pregnant woman was allegedly made to clean blood from a hospital bed on which her husband died. A purported video of the alleged incident surfaced on social media, sparking outrage, NDTV reported.
However, the hospital, Gadasarai Health Centre, claimed that the woman had asked to be allowed to wipe the blood stain off the bed for evidence that her husband was shot.
It is reported that four men were shot over a long-standing land dispute in the Lalpur village here on Thursday. The victims included a father and three sons, and the father and one son died on the spot. The injured two others, Shivraj and Ramraj, were rushed to the health centre, where the former died later.
It was Shivraj’s five-month-pregnant wife, Roshni, who was allegedly made to clean the hospital bed. In the video on social media, Roshni could be seen holding a blood-stained cloth in one hand while wiping the bed using tissues with the other.
A doctor at Gadasarai Health Centre, Dr Chandrashekhar Tekam, said that the hospital did not ask the woman to clean the bed.
She asked them to allow her to wipe the blood off Shivraj’s bed with a cloth so that she could use it as evidence of the extent of the bleeding, he said and added that he had not received any complaint from the woman or her family.
Meanwhile, the Gadasarai police have registered a case against several people under various charges, including murder, over the incident of shooting the four men. It is learned that some of the suspects are already being taken into custody.
