Karnataka BJP leader gets accused of raping 7-year-old girl

Bengaluru: A BJP leader, who is pushing for a party ticket in the upcoming district panchayat election in Karnataka, had been accused of rape of a seven-year-old girl. The incident related to the case happened in a village of Siruguppa taluk, Bellary district, Siasat reported.
According to local media, the accused is identified as the BJP youth leader Devu Nayak, who allegedly blindfolded the child while she was playing. He gagged her, took her to an isolated place and committed a heinous assault on her. Reports also suggest that a woman helped the leader in his act.
The survivor’s family filed a complaint against the BJP leader, and he was taken into custody while the child was sent for medical examination. Investigation is going on in the case.
The accused, Devu Nayak, who handles the party’s social media presence, is trying to get the party ticket to contest in the Bellary elections. His social media accounts have pictures of himself with prominent BJP leaders.
