New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut , BJP MP for the Mandi Lok Sabha, landed herself in trouble alongside stirring up a controversy when she called for bringing back controversial farm laws, which the Centre scrapped following farmers’ protest.

The actor-politician issued an apology saying that ‘I take my words back’ after she faced criticism with the BJP stating that Ranaut was “not authorised” to make such remarks.

Kangana Ranaut also stated that ‘My remark has disappointed several people," after the party spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that Ranaut’s comments were personal, not representing the party’s stand on farm bills.

‘If I have disappointed anyone with my views and words, I am sorry for that. I take my words back,’ she was quoted as saying.

Ranaut claimed that farm laws initially received widespread support but she stressed that it was important to respect PM Modi’s decision to withdraw the bills.

Taking to platform X today, Ranaut said they were her personal views and they did not represent' party’s stand on the bills.

The actor kicked up the controversy during an interview saying that the three farm laws should be brought back, and called for farmers to raise the demand.

Terming the laws beneficial for the farmers, she said that they were withdrawn following protests by farmers in some states, adding that ‘I want to appeal to them to demand the laws back for their own good’.

Last month the BJP distanced itself from her statements about the farmers' protest asking the actor-politician to exercise restraint.

Back then the BJP MP termed the farmers protest a build-up for "Bangladesh-like situation in India".
