New Delhi: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said that India’s international dialogues are no longer about the H1B visa but on building strategic partnerships.

Piyush Goyal who recently visited the United States, pointed to a significant shift in India's economic strategy, which he said going beyond the regular discussion on having more H1B visa.

During a meeting at Vanijya Bhavan in New Delhi, Goyal spoke about the country’s focus on building strategic partnerships outside visa matters.

Goyal spent two days in New York huddling with CEOs of major companies focusing the discussions on enhancing foreign investments in India, especially in the pharmaceutical and diamond sectors.

Alongside meeting thirty business leaders in US who are already operating in India, the discussion pointed to Surat as key area for investment thanks to being a major hub for the diamond industry.

The business leaders indicated strong interest in further expending their business ventures in India.

In Washington, he met 17 CEOs from the CEO forum, including top executives from Tata Sons.

It is reported that several memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed at the meeting.
