Mehsana (Gujarat): A 43-year-old man who was presumed dead walked into the event where he was mourned in Gujarat's Mehsana on Thursday.

Brijesh Suthar’s family filed a missing complaint with police after he went missing on October 27, NDTV reported.

About two week after his disappearance, his family was asked to identify a body found near Sabarmati bridge on November 10.

The decomposed body resembled that of Suthar and his relatives presumed it was his.

It is reported that Suthar had been battling mental health problems from financial issues.

After cremating the body, the family organised a prayer meet on Friday in his memory.

It was then Brijesh walked into the ceremony, leaving his family members and the cops shocked.

‘We looked for him everywhere. His phone was switched off. Then police showed us a body, it was swollen, we misidentified it and performed the cremation,’ Brijesh's mother reportedly said.

Suthar’s appearance created a major complication for police about whose body the family had cremated.

As police are scrambling to find an answer, Brijesh's family struggles to cope with the bizarre turn of events.

It is not yet known where Brijesh had been since his disappearance last month.
