New Delhi: A division bench of the Delhi High Court ruled following its consideration of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's request for temporary relief for ‘no coercive steps’ against him by the ED in the excise policy matter, and said, “At this stage we are not inclined to pass such an order”.

Kejriwal's writ suit, which contested the ED's summons to him in the excise policy case and the legality of other PMLA sections, included a motion for interim relief, requesting no coercive action, Indian Express reported.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the ninth time on Thursday regarding the excise policy case.

Responding to the summons, Atishi said, “Kejriwal wishes to co-operate with the ED investigation. However, our understanding is that ED is not just an investigative agency, but BJP’s political weapon and wants to arrest Kejriwal.”

Even as the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 draw near, the Congress and AAP, while in coalition have not yet developed a coordinated campaign. The Congress is fielding candidates from Chandni Chowk, Northwest, and Northeast Delhi, while the AAP is running from the South, West, East, and New Delhi constituencies.
