Clean chit in drug case: Aryan Khan moves to the special court for returning the passport

Mumbai: Months after receiving a clean chit from the drugs-on-cruise case, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, on Thursday, moved to the special NDPS court requesting the return of his passport.

The star kid was arrested in October 2021 for his alleged involvement in a high-profile drug case when the Narcotics Control Bureau raided a Goa-bound cruise ship.

However, the charge sheet filed in May after the probe did not title him as the "accused". Aryan Khan and five others were thus released due to the lack of sufficient evidence. No allegations can be made by only relying on Whatsapp messages, said the special court in response to the claims made by NCB in arresting Aryan Khan.

On Thursday, through his lawyers Amit Desai and Rahul Agarwal of Desai Desai Carrimjee and Mulla, he moved in for bail in a special court asking for the return of his passport, as no charges were filed against the 24-year-old.

The court had insisted the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) file a reply in its next hearing scheduled on July 13.
