Hyderabad: The discovery of two women’s bodies at different sites in the city on Tuesday has sparked concern and prompted police investigations. One body was recovered from a gunny bag at Cherlapalli railway station, while the other was found under a bridge at Kismatpura in Rajendranagar.

At Cherlapalli railway terminal, panic spread after auto drivers noticed a foul smell near the north entrance car park. A gunny bag left in the area was opened by police, revealing the decomposed body of a woman aged between 35 and 40 years. She was dressed in a red saree, with her hands and feet bound by ropes. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem.

CCTV footage showed a man arriving at the station in a car on Monday with two bags, one of them a gunny bag. He remained in the parking area for nearly two hours before heading to Platform 4, changing his clothes, and later boarding a train to Agartala from Platform 5. Police suspect he abandoned the bag before fleeing. Senior officials, including Rachakonda Crime Wing DCP Arvind Babu and ACP Venkat Reddy of Kushaiguda, inspected the site.

In the second incident the same day, the naked body of a woman aged around 25 to 30 years was found under a bridge near Kismatpura, close to a toddy compound. Initial reports suggest she may have been sexually assaulted before being killed.

Police said the woman had hired an auto rickshaw to Kismatpura and consumed toddy prior to her disappearance. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to trace her movements and identify those responsible.

Both cases are under investigation, with police intensifying efforts to track down the accused.
