Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrives for Parliament's winter session on December 16, 2024, with a ‘Palestine’ bag.

New Delhi: Priyanka Gandhi, one of the Lok Sabha's newest members, made waves this week with her choice of tote bags. She was chastised by BJP leaders for attending the Lok Sabha on Monday while carrying a bag with "Palestine" written on it.

The next day, she came with another bag, this time emphasising the plight of minority people in Bangladesh, the Free Press Journal reported.

Days after the event, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi sent Priyanka Gandhi a bag with the words "1984" printed on it on Friday. A video of the exchange has now been posted online.

In the footage, Priyanka Gandhi accepts the bag with a smile on her face. Earlier today, Priyanka Gandhi defended her brother Rahul Gandhi in response to the BJP's FIR against him after two BJP MPs were allegedly hurt during a protest over Ambedkar involving both NDA and INDIA MPs.

"This is a symbol of the government's desperation. It is a false FIR. Rahul Gandhi cannot push anyone—I am his sister, I know this. Frankly, the country knows this too. The country is watching how desperate they have become because they don't want a discussion on Adani. The country will not tolerate the insult of Ambedkar ji," she said.
