Bengaluru sees rising incidents of milk thefts!!

Bengaluru: Bengaluru is experiencing a rise in incidents of milk packet theft during the early hours of the day, raising concerns among milk vendors, consumers, and local authorities. The matter has gathered attention on social media, The Times of India reported.

There were two significant incidents of milk thievery this week in the city in which a group of people on a scooter stole a crate of milk from a roadside booth. The theft, which happened on Tuesday near the Konanakunte Metro Station, involved around 15 to 20 litres of milk worth some 1,000 rupees. The crime was caught on CCTV, but the vehicle's registration plate was unclear.

The operator of the booth reported the incident to the police helpline, and a Hoysala vehicle responded and initiated a search for the suspects but couldn’t find them. Police said that they advised the operator to file a complaint so that they could register a case of theft.

Another incident of theft happened in Indiranagar where two women were caught on CCTV camera stealing milk packets from the bags hanging on resident gates. Te theft happened in the early hours of Monday, and local police, though aware of the theft, did not receive a formal complaint.

According to TOI, milk prices are soaring in the city, and the recent incidents of theft are fuelling concern and distress among vendors and consumers. It is learnt that police are monitoring the issue but are yet to receive formal complaints so that they can act.
