Average daily vaccination has declined since June 21: Government data

As per government data on CoWIN platform, the average daily vaccination against COVID-19 has declined since June 21, when universalized vaccination against the ongoing pandemic commenced.

An average of 61.14 lakh doses of vaccine was administered daily between June 21 and 27, which dropped 41.92 lakh doses per day between June 28 and July 4. Between July 5 and 11, the daily average vaccine dose number was 34.32 lakh doses. However, despite the decline, the present daily average is higher than the previous phase; between June 14 and 20, 33.97 lakh doses of vaccine were administered daily.

While Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh witnessed a decline from June 21-27, a mixed trend was observed in Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Jammu and Kashmir.

Under the Nationwide vaccination drive, the number of doses administered so far has reached 37.73 crores. Furthermore, 1.54 crore doses are still remaining with states, UTs, and private hospitals to be administered as per the Health Ministry's update on Monday.

While states like Gujarat have received 'adequate' vaccines from the centre, states like Maharashtra, which recorded the highest number of cases on Monday, have raised the demand for more vaccines.
