Ask what Modi has given to Telangana, says KTR

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president KT Rama Rao took a dig at BJP and said the people of Telangana should question BJP about what the Modi government has given to Telangana.

KTR was speaking ahead of the BJP national executive meeting in Hyderabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the city and attend the meeting at HICC Novotel on July 2-3. He is also scheduled to address a public meeting in Secunderabad.

The last time BJP held its national executive meeting in Hyderabad was in 2004. The party at the time promised the creation of a separate state of Telangana.

He added that the BJP should salute the people of Telangana for their contributions to the nation. "When BJP leaders come to the villages of the state, explain all our schemes. Let them see 24-hour electricity and water connections in every house. Let's talk about Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima," reported ANI.

The Telangana Industry and Commerce Minister criticised the BJP meeting and said the party will have a two-day circus. "One BJP leader will come to each constituency. Whatever they are saying is a lie," he added.

He encouraged the people to ask BJP leaders to implement flagship schemes, like free electricity for farmers, of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's government for the entire country.

KTR said while addressing a party meeting in the city that it is time to say "bye-bye" to the Modi government at the Centre. He slammed the Centre by saying the BJP government only speaks but doesn't do the work.

He further assured the people of Telangana that he will take up the responsibility of irrigating 38,000 acres in Kalvakurthi. The minister added that the state government will soon grant new pensions to all those eligible.
