Mumbai: Panorama Studios and Penn Studios have jointly acquired the worldwide theatrical and digital rights of the much-awaited Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph film 'Drishyam 3', a report by Asian News International said. This could probably be the largest pan-Indian film acquisition in India this year. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal in the lead, Drishyam 3 is being produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

'Drishyam' is one of the most influential and celebrated cinematic franchises in Indian cinema. It continues to be one of the most captivating and widely discussed franchises in contemporary cinema. Along with achieving record-breaking box office milestones, the film has received extraordinary audience support in all languages. 'Drishyam' remakes have also received much acclaim. The Hindi version, 'Drishyam 2', produced by Panorama Studios and directed by Abhishek Pathak, has received huge audience support.

A press release reported that superstar Mohanlal said that his character Georgekutty feels like meeting an old friend. He said that Georgekutty carries "new secrets" and expressed excitement over how audiences will respond to his next chapter. Georgekutty has stayed with him for years in his thoughts, in the audience's emotions, and in the silence between the lines, Lal said, adding that returning to the character feels like meeting an old friend with new secrets. He also said that he is excited for the audience to see where Georgekutty’s journey leads.

Director Jeethu Joseph said that the Drishyam narrative continues to evolve. Stories like this "don't end," and the new partnership marks the right step toward expanding the film's global presence, ANI reported.

Panorama Studios Chairman Kumar Mangat Pathak said that acquiring Drishyam 3’s rights was very emotional and significant. For him, the movie franchise is more than just a film. It is a journey of self-transformation for Indian cinema, he said.
