Natasha Poonawalla makes a statement at Met Gala 2024 with Maison Margiela ensemble
text_fieldsRenowned for her daring fashion sense, Natasha Poonawalla turned heads once again at the Met Gala 2024.
Her attire, a custom creation from Maison Margiela's Artisanal Collection by designer John Galliano, showcased her distinctive style.
Poonawalla's outfit featured a sculpted white strapless bodycon dress adorned with delicate torn chiffon detailing in black. Complementing the ensemble was a whimsical puffy white beret, accented with matching black sheer chiffon layers. Adding height to her look were towering platform heels by Christian Louboutin, while statement pearl studs provided a touch of elegance.
The makeup choice for the evening included glittery grey eyeshadow and vibrant red lipstick, enhancing the overall allure of her ensemble. A coordinating white bag, intricately layered with black chiffon, completed the sophisticated look.
Resembling an ethereal, spider web-covered creation, Poonawalla's outfit paid homage to the event's theme, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."
Notably, this wasn't Poonawalla's first thematic nod at the Met Gala.
In a previous year, she donned an ensemble from Victor and Rolf's fall/winter 2018 collection, offering a literal interpretation of Sleeping Beauty. The attire featured a white silk quilted coat with a pillow replacing the collar. Paired with vibrant orange hair styled by Eugene Souleiman and a tulle overlay adorned with embroidered dry flower petals, her look perfectly aligned with the event's "Garden of Time" dress code.
The Met Gala, held annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, marks the unveiling of the Costume Institute exhibition, followed by a gala dinner and a fashion showcase.
This year's co-chairs include Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth, succeeding the 2023 hosts: Dua Lipa, Penelope Cruz, Roger Federer, and Michaela Coel.
