The incident reportedly occurred earlier this week when the 32-year-old complainant visited Kapoor's residence. According to her statement, the actor invited her under the pretext of discussing a film shoot. However, once inside his bedroom, he allegedly behaved inappropriately and forcibly touched her, the police official said.
The woman also alleged that after the meeting, Kapoor sent her a WhatsApp message using foul language. She claimed she initially came into contact with the actor on Facebook and later communicated with him through video calls.
Based on her complaint, the police have filed an FIR against Kapoor under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to outrage a woman's modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman through words or gestures) of the Indian Penal Code.
Kapoor, known for his roles in films like 'Josh', 'LOC: Kargil', and 'Lakshya', is yet to respond to the allegations. Further investigations are underway, the official added.
