Angamaly Diaries Hindi remake: Tamil actor Arjun Das to play the lead
text_fieldsOne of the iconic films produced by the contemporary Malayalam film industry, Angamali Diaries, is set to get a Bollywood remake. Helmed by Tamil director Madhumita of KD fame, actor Arjun Das is set to play the lead character.
This will be Das' debut in the Hindi film industry. The film will be produced by Abundantia Entertainment. The Hindi remake will be set in Goa. A title hasn't been announced yet.
Being one of the biggest hits and memorable Malayalam films of recent times, Angamaly Diaries tells the story of a group of young boys. The plot focuses on the years shaping their character which carries an overwhelming amount of ill-temperament. It defined the career of its director Lijo Jose Pallissery.
Arjun Das told The Indian Express that he is delighted that his introduction to the Hindi film world is with such a "strong footing". "I couldn't have asked for a better start to this new chapter for me. Madhumita has brought her own unique flavour to this film, and I can't wait for the audience to watch her vision for the film," said the actor.
Director Madhumita echoed similar sentiments and said he couldn't have asked for a better actor to play. "It has been a delight to work with him and this exciting bunch of actors".
