Rising delivery trends seen across key Indian metros on Swiggy's Instamart

BENGALURU: The largest customers of Swiggy's Instamart are Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Chennai, which have seen a 16x increase in orders over the past year.
Bengaluru was at the top of the list of cities that purchased organic products, while Bengaluru and Hyderabad together ordered 290 tonnes of green chillies annually.
Orders of organic fruits and vegetables increased by 58 times (62,000 tonnes) using the app.
In Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi, the sale of breakfast staples like milk and eggs showed an increase in demand, with 50 million orders for eggs and 30 million for milk, the NIE reported.
Foods that are ready to eat were also seen to be popular in these cities.
In the previous year, more than 2 lakh orders for items like drain cleaners, scrub pads, and bathroom cleansers were placed.
The demand for ice cream in these cities increased by 42% during the height of the summer, from April to June.
Additionally, shoppers were seen purchasing more than 5.6 million packs of instant noodles. In the previous 12 months, orders for tampons, menstrual cups, and sanitary napkins totalled close to 2 million units.
