Gurugram: On the occasion of International Women's Day, the food delivery platform Zomato revealed a new dress code for the women delivery personnel, NDTV reported.

Zomato took to Instagram to announce that female delivery personnel could now wear Kurtas. The video that accompanied the Insta post that featured the new attire went viral, gathering numerous positive comments.

Zomato captioned the post, "Starting today, Zomato's women delivery partners can choose to wear a kurta."

"Many female delivery partners expressed discomfort with the western-style Zomato t-shirts. So, we gave them a choice," it said in the video.

In the video the platform posted, female delivery personnel were shown wearing newly introduced Kurtas. The video posted around three lakh views and over 46,000 likes, with scores of comments.

A positive comment said that Zomato touched hearts like none other. It nailed the marketing game, it said.

One user commented that the change was overdue, while another said, "How cool. Empowerment looks different for everyone."

Another user said that the video was the most heartwarming one they have watched in a long time.

A user praised the change but suggested that the company should work on decent wages, a good working environment and facilities for its employees. They pointed out that many delivery personnel complain about unfair wages and bad working conditions.
