Writer Paulo Coelho extends Ramadan wishes on Facebook

As the Muslim holy month of Ramadan started on the eve of April 1 in many countries, particularly in the Middle East and the rest to have on April 2, the renowned Brazilian writer and lyricist Paulo Coelho extended his heart-warming wishes to the world.

On Facebook, he wrote, "Dear friends: we Christians spent centuries full of arrogance, intolerance, prejudice. So, like every year, I beg you to forgive us.

And tomorrow, when the Crescent moon appears, I would like to say to you: Have a peaceful and happy Ramadan."

Paulo Coelho is known for his novels rooted in spirituality and the search for oneself. His 'Alchemist' published in 1987 was an international bestseller that got translated into many languages.
