Unknown men kidnap Imran Khan's political advisor: Pak media

Lahore: Media reports from Pakistan suggested that the political advisor to the jailed leader and former Prime Minister in the country, Imran Khan, got kidnapped by unknown people from Lahore, PTI reported.

Advisor Ghulam Shabbir, who is also the elder brother to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shahbaz Gill, was abducted two days ago while he was en route to Islamabad, a newspaper from Pakistan Express Tribune reported. The newspaper cited an FIR filed at the Kahna police station on the missing Shabbir.

Shabbir's son Bilal filed the FIR, which states that he had left his residence in Lahore's Khayaban-e-Amin late at night and headed towards Islamabad. No further details were available, PTI reported.

Since August 2023, Imran Khan has been jailed after being convicted in some of the 200 cases in which he was named. He was removed from the PM's chair in April 2022.

The former cricketer-turned-politician had launched a march toward Pakistan's capital from Lahore to topple the coalition government of Shahbaz Sharif in May 2022. Khan was ousted from power through a vote of no confidence, PTI reports.

On April 1, Imran Khan alleged that his wife, Bushra Bibi, was poisoned during his incarceration at his private residence. He added that the nation's army chief should be held responsible if Bushra is harmed, Press Trust of India reported.

Khan was at the hearing of the 190 million pound Toshakhana corruption case in Adiala jail when he informed Judge Nasir Javed Rana that former first lady Bushra was poisoned and there were marks on her skin and tongue as a side effect.
