"Sunak isn't even British": A Conservative Party member tells UK radio

New Delhi: Rishi Sunak's rise to become the next UK PM has not gone down well with the racial elements in the nation, it seems.

A phone call from an audience member to Britain's popular radio show highlighted the simmering racial hate against the 42-year-old leader among his Conservative Party members.

The caller who identified himself as Jerry on the LBC radio show told the host that Sunak is not even British in most people's opinion.

In the argument that followed the caller said Boris Johnson had the best chance of winning the general election next time.

Adding more to the slur he said Boris Johnson loves England but Sunak does not, and he went on to compare Sunak to Al Qaeda.

The show host pointed out Johnson was born in New York while Rishi Sunak was born in the UK and educated in prestigious educational institutions in the country.

Jerry argued that Rishi Sunak is not British because his wife Akshata Murty's business is set in India and the US.

Also the man who claimed to be a member of the Conservative party said half of Al Qaeda are British citizens.

Sunak could do nothing to prove his patriotism, he said, asking if he, the caller, could personally become the prime minister of Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

He said UK wanted a prime minister who would reflect eighty five per cent of the English who are white people.

"I can't just go to India and be the Prime Minister there can I? He was quoted as saying.

At which point the show host shot him down calling the man "fundamentally a racist" and wondered he and his Tory Party members thought so.
