Arkansas/US: Police arrested a teacher in the United States state of Arkansas for alleged sexual abuse of a teenager she met in a church, the New York Post reported.
The teacher, identified as 26-year-old Reagan Gray, was arrested earlier in April after she allegedly abused a 15-year-old while volunteering at the Little Rock Immanuel Baptist Church in 2020.
Court documents say that the survivor's parents reported the teacher to a senior pastor at the church after they came to notice several text messages on their son's phone. The investigation on the matter revealed that she "bombarded" his phone with several nude pictures. The accused was chatting with the survivor on Snapchat.
During her counselling, the accused, however, stated the relationship wasn't physical. She, a teacher at the Little Rock Christian Academy, was suspended from her volunteering role.
But, the teenager told federal officers that the accused gave him oral sex but stayed away from intercourse so that he could 'stay pure'. The location for the abuse was the accused's car or house, and the boy said such encounters happened a dozen times.
Meanwhile, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was told by a church leader that the accused confessed in 2023 that the relationship was sexual during a counselling session.
As the probe into the charges was underway, the accused, who was employed at the Sylvan Hills Middle School, was put on administrative leave in February. Later an arrest warrant was issued, and she was charged with assault but released on a $20,000 bail.
